Physical Exam

What is a clinical breast and/or pelvic exam?

A breast exam is performed when a doctor or nurse manually feels for any lumps or changes in your breasts.

A pelvic exam is performed when a doctor or a nurse manually checks your fallopian tubes, ovaries, and uterus for any abnormalities.

Mammogram

What is a screening mammogram?

A screening mammogram is a safe, low-dose X-ray picture of the breast used to detect breast cancer early. A mammogram can find breast cancer that is too small for you or your doctor to feel.

Why should I get a mammogram?

Breast cancer is among the most common cancer in women of all ages. Early detection is the key to a greater chance of survival.

Pap Smear

What is a pap smear and why should I have one?

The doctor or nurse uses a small brush or swab to take a few cells from your cervix. These cells are tested at a lab for cancer. If cancer is found early, it is easier to cure.
